The City of Stanton is located in northwestern Orange County with a population of about 39,000 in 3.1 square miles. The City was re-incorporated in 1956 and the City's motto is Community Pride and Forward Vision. Residents benefit from a wide variety of programs provided by the City which include parks, a family resource center, annual holiday events and programs which support taking pride in ownership.
City Flag - "Adopted January 24, 1989"

Since the City had no official flag, the City Council unanimously adopted flag as presented to them on January 24, 1989.
On January 24, 1989, Mr. Ard Keuilian, Indoor Swapmeet of Stanton, 10401 Beach Blvd., officially presented to the City of Stanton a duplicate of the Stanton flag they had made which hangs on one of three flagpoles in front of the Indoor Swapmeet building.

Contests to generate a new City seal and motto were conducted in early 1987. The motto below has been led the City forward over the last twenty plus years.

Upon recommendation of the Stanton Women's Civic Club in October 1959, the Bird of Paradise was selected as the City Flower.

Housing and Location: Stanton housing ranges from large single family estates to tract houses and from town homes and condos to apartments. Historic neighborhoods include the Benedict tract, the city's oldest neighborhood, located at the northwest corner of Beach Boulevard and Katella Avenue. Stanton has its own theme park, Adventure City/Hobby City, on Beach Boulevard.
Stanton has 160 acres of open and park space, with eight parks/recreation facilities. A new urban park at Katella Avenue and Cedar Street is set to include a veterans' memorial.
The Indoor Swapmeet of Stanton on Beach Boulevard opened in 1989 and features 70 vendors selling international goods and food.
In 2006, a major redevelopment project began to develop the former Stanton Plaza Center on as Renaissance Plaza. It will include a mix of homes and a "Main Street" business district.
Schools and Community: The city has two elementary schools: Carver on Santa Rosalia and Robert M. Pyles on Dale Avenue. Children are sent to other elementary, middle and high schools within Anaheim and Garden Grove.
Recreation: Neighboring cities boast major theme parks, include Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park and Disneyland in Anaheim.
The city hosts an annual Taste of Stanton event and Fourth of July activities. It is one of the few cities in the county that allows people to purchase "safe and sane" fireworks legally.
Local History: Stanton, CA re-incorporated as a city on June 4, 1956, and is named after Philip Stanton, a state assemblyman and prominent Seal Beach resident. The north Orange County city is surrounded by Buena Park, Cypress, Garden Grove and Anaheim. The original city motto of "Crossroads to Vacationland" was changed in 1987 to "Community Pride and Forward Vision."
In 1911, Stanton was considered as the ideal location for a sewage farm for the city of Anaheim--until ranchers fought the proposal.
In the early 1990s, the Orange County Sheriff's Department began an intensive patrol of the city, including business districts where motels and adult entertainment businesses were attracting increased prostitution.
